Video Project: Eye of the Beholder
I think that this tool has a tremendous potential within K-12 classrooms. By making a video, students break down assignments, which I believe helps them to better understand the material that they are working with. For example while working with literature it can help them extract themes that they can apply not only to the literature and the time it was written but also makes it easier for them to apply to present day events. If kids enjoy working on computers at all, I would guess that most would really enjoy the opportunity to create a visual representation of their ideas and opinions of what is important about a topic or highlighting aspects of a topic that they find interesting. I know that in my own experience, once I get started, it’s almost addictive. I constantly want to tweak my videos and make it sync better with the audio. Personally, there is defiantly a lot more I could stand to learn about the Windows movie making program. Still I’m fairly comfortable using the program with my current knowledge and could probable demonstrate to another person how to use what I know how to do in the program.
